The Global Day of Prayer New England event site History - July 2000, Businessman Graham Power called churches of all denominations to prayer and repentance in Cape Town South Africa; March 2001, 45,000 gathered to worship in the Newlands Rugby Stadium. May 2003, 27 countries and 66 cities in Africa joined in. May 2004, all 56 African Nations participated. An invitation went out to all the nations and on Pentecost Sunday May 15, 2005, 220 nations and hundreds of millions of people participated in the first Global Day of Prayer. Global Day of Prayer New England Committee - "This is just the beginning of a process to saturate all the nations of the globe in prayer: For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea (Hab. 2:14). May every Pentecost until 2010 see a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit." GDOP Hartford 2006 - Connecticut leads out. Over 4000 attended at the Hartford Civic Center as 150 pastors participate from across the state. Powerful prayer and worship - AND satellite downlinks and video presentations. GDOP Boston 2006 -10 Days of Devotions emailed, 900 attend--mostly from Boston & Eastern MA area. Powerful times of exhortation, prayer and worship - AND video presentations of the evidences of revival in our area. Greatly encouraging! GDOP New England 2007 was held in Fitchburg--10 Days of Devotions & 10 Days of Prayer Retreat in Northfield. Royal Plaza Trade Center provided a central location for all New England. Horizon Christian Fellowship, Pastor George Small. 2500 attended-all NE States represented- beautiful times of prayer and worship- many denominations, ethnic groups, all ages-India Children's Choir, local musicians & worship teams and vocalist Renese King. GDOP New England 2008 - May 11 (Mother's Day and Pentecost Sunday) -- Northfield, MA, maximum 500; Gateway Fellowship, New Haven, CT, seats 900; Leon de Juda, Boston, MA, seats 800. Help needed - Distribute posters, bulletin inserts and fliers to churches in your area. Send press releases to local papers and radio stations Forward email reminders and 10 Days of Devotions to area churches, friends, ministry leaders. Contact people, organizations or foundations to help with expenses of building and equipment rental and advertising. Event program planning, set up, take-down, decorating, ushering.
